The National Council of the Bloc Valenciana strongly defends the decree on multilingualism of Minister Marzà and demands fair funding for the Valencian Country

The National Council of the Bloc Valenciana, the party’s highest decision-making body between congresses, begins April with a session of debate and organic work demanding fair funding, within the framework of the negotiation of the State PGs, and recognizing the good results achieved in the application of the decree on multilingualism of the Ministry of Education with Vicent Marzà at the helm.

Enric Morera, advocating for the necessary funding for the Valencian Country in the resolution proposal approved in the National Council presented together with Joan Baldoví and Fran Ferri, has asked “that the state does not discriminate once again against Valencians and that it demonstrates this by including in this year’s budgets the historical demands of our people”.

For his part, Vicent Marzà, has informed the militancy of the encouraging figures and the advances that the Plurilingualism decree implies for the defense of the language “The results obtained are some of the best news for Valencianism that has occurred in recent years: for the first time in history, truly multilingual education, education in Valencian is the majority in the Valencian Country”, detailing some figures such as that 74% of the centers have increased their level and that practically all of the two-line centers have opted for the advanced one. Concluding: “we must continue working to go even further, because we are not going to back down even a millimeter.”

From the General Secretariat of the BLOC, the path is common in defending the nationalist positions within the Botànic Government as the best tool at the service of Valencian society. The National Spokesperson, Rafa Carbonell, given the party’s priority of growing in the municipal and regional areas, has highlighted the need for the BLOC “to have its own space and voice in the government of the Generalitat” and therefore Carbonell postulated that “We want to be clearly recognized as the progressive, transversal and cross-cutting VALENCIA PARTY, which defends Valencian interests”.

For her part, the National Coordinator, Agueda Micó, in the same line of support for the positions in the Compromís governments, defended how “we are carrying forward the Valencianist agenda throughout the institutions, thanks to the tireless and successful work of our representatives”; the national coordinator also highlighted as examples “making Valencianism involves making public policies that advance our language, Valencian; to carry out actions against the plundering of the financial system; to strengthen the productive fabric and promote stable and quality employment in the Valencian Country and the fight against corruption”.

In the same vein, the CN has also wanted to recognize and support the work of the different positions in the institutions where they govern within Compromís, such as the councilors Vicent Marzà and Rafa Climent and the deputies in Congress Joan Baldoví and Marta Sorlí, as well as Gerard Fullana and M. Josep Amigó, in the Provincial Councils, and the rest of the positions with the work carried out in the different institutions.

Within the framework of the work on the improvement of Compromís, the National Council of the BLOC has approved the Proposal for participation in a horizontal debate in Compromís to define the lines of what the coalition wants to work on.

The National Council has also elected the new finance secretary Xavier Martí, and has approved the constitution of the new current of the BLOC I PAÍS party by absolute majority, as required by the BLOC statutes.
